SerraSure™

SerraSure™ is GCI’s brand name for Serrapeptase. Serrapeptase is a natural enzyme produced by serratia bacteria living in silkworms. Once the silkworm has completed its transformation into a moth, it uses this enzyme to dissolve a hole in its tough cocoon, so that it can escape. Serrapeptase dissolves only dead tissue, such as the silkworm’s cocoon, but does not harm living tissue.

Scientists have isolated this enzyme and it has been produced and used for many years as a Dietary Supplement in the following ways:

• It may create healthy inflammation by thinning the fluids formed from injury, and facilitating the fluid’s drainage. In turn, this also speeds tissue repair.
• It may help alleviate discomfort by inhibiting the release of amines called bradykinin.
• It may enhance cardiovascular health by breaking down the protein by-products of blood coagulation called fibrin. Serrapeptase is able to dissolve the fibrin and other dead tissues in blood vessels without harming living tissue. The result is improved blood flow throughout the cardiovascular system.
